What A Snow Job!

"Change we can Beleive In." That's the slogan Barack Obama has been seeling to Americans for the past eighteen months or so; the idea that he is some new political figure, above seizing on issues to further his political ambitions. Now. his legions of fans have only just realized what myself and Hillary Clinton's supporters have long known: It was a big snow job.

Take his recent flip-flops on everything from campaing finance to meeting with dictators, to the the latest...supporting the Bush Administration on FISA and the protection it offers Telecom Companies. Besides the FISA legislation, Obama has also offered more moderate views in recent weeks on gun-ownership rights and a death penalty ruling by the Supreme Court. He also expressed a willingness to "refine" his timeline for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, depending on the situation on the ground there.

Republicans are practically gleeful about the anger of the Obama supporters and are using the dustup to impugn his integrity. After saying he would debate 'anywhere, any time,' Obama decided against participating in any of the 10 joint town hall meetings. After backing the D.C. handgun ban, he now says it was unconstitutional."

Obama's supporters are noticing that he's "suddenly" running to the right and changing his positions on everything they thought he stood for. What a colossal surprise...NOT! Had they been listening to Hillary Clinton, it would not have come as such a shock and a surprise. As far as I am concerned, they deserve the kick in the gut reality check they are waking up to. When Obama was bobbing and weaving and twisting and turning throughout the Reverend Wright mess, the NAFTA issue with Canada, the shifting position on Iraq according to Samantha Power, they all praised him, including the media, calling his flip-flops "nuanced" position shifts.

Will his left leaning supporters and the media who loves him make excuses for him as usual, or will they finally wake up and realize that he has lied to them. What a shock for them to realize that he seems to be embracing Bush's Faith-Based Program! Even I was shocked when I saw how blatantly obvious he was at doing whatever it took to court christian conservatives, and I'm not jaded! Then he slapped down MOVE ON when he criticised them for the General Betrayeus flap. Now today he has voted in favor of FISA after saying he would not, in fact, he said he would filibuster the bill.

Now, when he is called on his shift, apparently "we haven't been listening" to anything he's been saying? I guess we are all too stupid to understand his lofty positions or his Harvard educated words. You know what they say, payback is a bitch.
