Hillary Clinton wants a gas tax holiday for the summer months, Obama says it was a phony, bogus gimmick that will only give drivers about $28 dollars a month. What is so wrong with that proposal? When I fill up, it is subtracting money from my food budget. Sure, it is easy for Obama, Bloomberg, Robert Reich, and the other Obama surrogates to pooh pooh $28/month as nothing because they are not out here in the "real world" hurting. My kids are complaining that I'm not buying as much food as I used to, even two months ago. I'm spending more on food and bringing home less for the money I spend. I could use that extra money to buy milk and cereal for my kids' breakfast. This is an indication that Obama is "out of touch" with the little guy" and no amount of "family picnics" or roller skating rink trips will change the perception that he does not relate.
Compounding the pain is the fact that food prices have gone through the roof! I'm talking about milk at $3.99 per gallon! I say any help is something. Besides, hasn't Obama voted for gas tax holiday a total of three times when he was in the Illinois State Senate? Apparently he voted against it when he received pressure from the oil companies. Of course Obama is going to be against a gas tax holiday now, he voted for the Cheney Energy Bill (we still don't know who was involved) because the Administration has refused to release the details of the meeting citing Executive Privilege.
