Barack and Michele Obama's interview with Meredith Viera was a joke. She did not aggressively go after the underlying and obvious truth about Obama's relationship with Reverend Wright. It was basically a soft-ball attempt by Viera to seem as if she was really a serious journalist. Are you telling me that NBC could not find someone with more stature to conduct such an interview? She allowed the Obamas to essentially cast blame on the media and their critics about the entire controversy.
As recently as Sunday, and again today, Obama was claiming the remarks were "snippets" taken out of context and "run on a continuous loop" by the media. Again on Monday Obama brushed off the remarks that Wright again repeated at the National Press Club on the tarmac at the airport. He was unconcerned and was certainly not outraged as he claimed. What is he outraged about? These comments were reiterated by Reverend Wright, not taken out of context, nor were they snippets as he and his supporters have been claiming for weeks. Only when Wright got personal, calling Obama a "politician who has to say what he says to get elected" did he "suddenly" become outraged. He was not outraged by the comments, or about making fun of JFK and LBJ. Once again, the press seems to be giving him the benefit of the doubt, however, I would be shocked if voters are as charitable given the MANY things that have now come to the fore.
